Many locals know Executive Chef Roger Thomas, Viceroy L'Ermitage, Beverly Hills, when he was in Akron honing his skills at the highly regarded Wine Merchant. From there he traveled to Europe. In Paris, Chef Thomas became a certified chef. Upon returning to Ohio, Thomas became the executive chef of Ken Stewart's Grille before opening his first restaurant, Sixteen Eighty. From there he traveled extensively in Italy working with renowned chefs before opening Piatto in Akron and then moving to the Sheraton Suites Hotel in Cuyahoga Falls. Piatto is still the only Akron restaurant to win the title of "Best Restaurant in Northern Ohio". In 2014, he moved to L'Ermitage to transition the menu from Italian to French.
Filipino born, Chef Rick Carson of Nosh Eatery and Creative Catering in Hudson, trained in Classical French Cuisine along with extensively traveling the world, lends these Global influences to his modern vision of Culinary Arts. Working in 5 star restaurants, world renowned Culinary Farms, specialty pop-up dinners, cooking for celebrities, senators and the White House, are all part of his resume. Chef Carson also owns Nosh Farm in Hudson which showcases his passion for fresh ingredients. Chef Carson is the Culinary Director for tonight's event.
Tucked into the forest on a tranquil bench above our Grey Palm Estate Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, California Cast Wines grows and produces wines that highlight the best of Sonoma County. As part of the Cast Experience you will receive an in-depth vineyard and winery tour, tasting and discussion of winemaking at Cast. We'll toast your arrival with our Blanc de Noirs to get the visit started off right. With glass in hand, we will lead you on a walk in our vineyard where you will be treated to one of the best views in Dry Creek Valley. We'll discuss our farming practices and you will see how our grapes are nurtured and prepared for harvest. Our next stop will be the winery crush pad and an overview of the harvesting steps in the winemaking process - paired with another one of our wines. We will proceed to the fermentation tank area and into our barrel aging room. Each step of the way you will be guided by our knowledgeable winery team who will share interesting facts about the winery and the Cast approach. We'll finish with a seated tasting of our reserve wine accompanied by a cheese plate.

Blossom Friends of The Cleveland Orchestra formed in 1968, leads projects dedicated to promoting and financially sustaining The Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center. Activities include sponsoring the Opening Night concert of each summer's Blossom Music Festival, hosting an annual recognition event for musicians, presenting a series of meet-the-artist Gourmet Matinee luncheons, and staffing the Blossom Information Center.
