Blossom Friends is excited to announce the five nationally known chefs as well as local organic farmers that will be participating in A Symphony of Food and Fine Wine.
Culinary Director and Chef Rick Carson of Nosh Eatery and Creative Catering in Hudson has trained in the culinary arts and traveled extensively around the world lending Global influences to his plates. His organic Nosh Farm in Hudson shows his passion for fresh ingredients.
Executive Chef Roger Thomas, Viceroy L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills, CA, originally honed his skills at the highly regarded Wine Merchant. From there, he traveled to Europe becoming a certified chef in Paris. Upon returning to Ohio, Thomas became the executive chef of Ken Stewart's Grille before opening his first restaurant, Sixteen Eighty. From there, he traveled extensively in Italy working with renowned chefs before opening Piatto in Akron. In 2014 he moved to L'Ermitage to transition the menu from Italian to French.
Chef Lauren Shaffer of Luna Bakery & Cafein Cleveland, attended Pennsylvania Culinary Institute to study pastry and baking. Shaffer has worked in many of the best bakeries and restaurants in Cleveland. Chef Shaffer loves using each season's local flavors bringing new options to her ever changing display case at Luna.
Chef David Holland, Nosh Creative Catering in Hudson, was classically trained in French cuisine and is experienced as a Chef in Fine Dining restaurants and hotels. Chef Holland draws his inspiration from modern techniques and flavors from this travels in the U.S., fusing modern and classic with a passion for fresh, locally produced ingredients to design a creative, interactive experience for guests.
Chef Zach Hirt of Nuevo Modern Mexican and Tequila Bar in Cleveland and Akron, studied and trained with a CIA graduate. Chef Hirt worked at The Zephyr, a vegetarian restaurant in Kent. In 2003 he worked alongside Chef Roger Thomas at Piatto. Developing a love for Mexican food and tequila, he spent three years studying Mexican cuisine and by 2013 crafted a "new and modern" menu. His cuisine is heavy on fresh, local vegetables, high-quality meat and fish, and refreshing flavor combinations.
Fine Wine Presentations for the evening include: Bodegas Fusion from the Ribera del Duero area in Spain, Cast Wines from California’s Sonoma County, CLE urban winery, Cleveland, OH, and Treasure Hunter from CA and Washington wineries.
Representatives and/or wine makers of these wineries will be present and speaking about the wines served throughout the evening.
